The Intergenerational Foundation strongly believe that solving the housing affordability crisis requires the creation of a more heterogeneous homebuilding industry, which should include a greater role for the public sector.

This consultation response makes the following points on government policy towards planning and housing delivery:

  • The current house building model doesn’t work.
  • We should unlock our ‘hidden homes’ to boost housing delivery.
