In this briefing the Care Quality Commission (CQC) welcomes the publication of the Care Bill 2013. The Bill addresses some of the recommendations from the Francis Report, redefines preexisting legislation and takes forward a number of the changes outlined in CQC's 3-year strategy. The Bill will introduce a regime to oversee the financial stability of the most hard-to-replace care providers, and ensure that care will not be interrupted if providers in the regime fail.
