The Group presents six recommendations to support acutely sick young people. We need:

  • High quality safety net advice for children, young people and families
  • Children to be specifically catered for in all NHS services
  • Children to receive care as close to home as possible, but to have access to highly specialised care as required
  • To investigate why the UK has the worst health outcomes with respect to amenable mortality in Europe
  • To train competent workforce equipped to address the needs of babies, children and young people.
  • To monitor outcomes by applying the NHS change model which has been created to support the NHS to adopt a shared approach to leading change and transformation.
