This volume contains a variety of historical and legendary material, including the Trojan War, Alexander the Great and the Crusades. It was made around 1200. A reader has highlighted certain passages, particularly those containing proverbs or moral exempla included in the History of the Kings of Britain written by the Anglo-Norman cleric, Geoffrey of Monmouth (b. c. 1100, d. 1154). His notes are apparent in the abbreviation ‘N’ (for nota or note) written in the margins.
