Delius in his garden

This painting of Frederick Delius in the garden of his home at Grez sur Loing, France, was the work of his wife, the artist Jelka Rosen Delius. Influenced by the aesthetics of Impressionism, the garden was an inspiration for both Jelka in her landscapes and Frederick, who evoked it in the symphonic poem In a Summer Garden (1908).
