This research study, commissioned by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) and carried out by the Centre for Enterprise and Economic Development Research (CEEDR), provides an early assessment of the economic effectiveness of four equity funds that the government has introduced in recent years to address market failures in the provision of finance to SMEs. This early assessment forms part of a wider economic evaluation of BIS equity funds.
