Belgian soldiers defending Barchon, Liege in Belgium, 1914
Information
Description
At the beginning of August 1914, the German army marched on Liège in Belgium. Barchon is a Belgian village in the province of Liège, near the German border. This photographic postcard depicts Belgian soldiers climbing up a hill.
There is often a fine line between information and propaganda. This especially applies for war postcards such as this one.
