This photograph, very much a family snap rather than a formal portrait, was taken at Thames Ditton in 1921. The group photographed is (from left to right) pianist Evlyn Howard-Jones, composer Frederick Delius, his wife, the artist Jelka Rosen Delius, and the cellist Beatrice Harrison. Howard-Jones and Harrison were both close associates of Delius at different times in his life, and were the dedicatees and first performers of various works by the composer.
