'Guesses at Futurity' from the Pall Mall Gazette

Description

Fred Jane, best-known for Jane’s Fighting Ships, produced eight illustrations for the Pall Mall Magazine (1894–95) called ‘Guesses at Futurity’ showing what life in the year 2000 might be like. It is very much a late Victorian view with a few added predictions such as families watching huge television screens, dinner parties where artificial food is consumed, and bright street lighting outside.
