This report from the Arthritis Research UK Epidemiology Unit at The University of Manchester collates epidemiological data on the incidence, prevalence, and costs of musculoskeletal conditions in the UK. It aims to provide a template that can be used to estimate the number of sufferers amongst any section of the population, such as a GP patient list, with known age and gender breakdown.

Specific diseases covered in the report are rheumatoid arthritis, childhood arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, systemic lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, polymyalgia rheumatica, joint failure and osteoarthritis, back pain, regional and widespread pain syndromes, and osteoporosis.
