A human rights approach to health and social care regulation is crucial because respecting diversity, promoting equality and ensuring human rights will help to ensure that everyone using health and social care services receives safe and good quality care. This approach will help to consistently integrate human rights into the way the Commission regulates providers. It will put human rights principles and standards at the heart of policy and planning and empower staff and users.

The detail in this document covers the human rights topics that the Commission needs to consider to ensure people receive good quality care, and how it proposes to look at these topics.
