Il Gíoco degli Scacchi  (The Game of Chess) is a treatise by Pietro Carrera on the origins, rules, moves, odds and endgames of chess. It was published in the Sicilian town of Militello, Carrera’s birthplace, under the patronage of Francesco Branciforte, a local nobleman.
