This nicely illuminated gospel book that once contained some exquisite portraits of the evangelists closes with a short collection of excerpts from various Church Fathers. The aim of assembling these quotations is to illustrate that Christ's divine nature cannot be separated from his human body. The collected passages start with the name of their alleged authors followed by the actual quote. These attributions are not always correct and the many of the texts still await their proper identification.
