This document provides detailed statistical information from the survey informing the VitalSigns report which grades twelve key issues that effect the quality of life of the Irish population. The categories graded are: arts and culture; health and wellbeing; learning; strong communities; children and young people; older people; inclusive society; getting around; environment; safety; work, equality and financial wellbeing; and housing. The report reflects public perception, factual data and community leaders' perceptions. Education indicators, ranging from the overall quality of the education system and literacy levels through to libraries and reading and universities and third level education, accounted for 8 out of the top 10 most important issues overall. The home life of children and young people and air quality were the other two issues which featured in the top ten issues. Arts and culture ranked highest, showing people are most satisfied with this area, whereas health and wellbeing achieved the lowest ranking. This document provides the importance rankings of the variables in each key issue area examined.
