The LGiU Local Government Homelessness Commission was set up to investigate how councils can fulfil their obligation to prevent homelessness. This report is the first assessment of the state of homelessness prevention from the perspective of local government, and considers those who are tasked with actually implementing the policy, and supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our society. The authors of this report recommend an adequately funded housing and homelessness strategy, and a homelessness prevention toolkit, designed around the needs of local government.
