Literature review focusing on understandings and definitions of mental health and emotional well-being, whilst paying attention to the interdependence of emotional well-being with other areas of well-being such as physical well-being. The review explores the discrepancies between the various definitions of normal child behaviour, health and well-being through a close examination of reports and studies from a variety of sources ranging from NHS documents to academic research. The varying literature on the topic is brought together with a view to developing a more well rounded understanding of the issue.
