In December 2014 and January 2015, CMI conducted a survey of 535 Chartered Managers to explore the impact of becoming Chartered on their professional development and career progression, and the benefits it has delivered to their employers.

This white paper presents the survey findings plus insights from more than 20 case study interviews conducted with Chartered Managers, with employers who have used Chartered Manager as part of their management development, and with Higher Education Institutions that offer the accreditation to complement qualifications. It concludes that individual managers and their employers both benefit - from increased ability, confidence and self-awareness; and also in terms of the results they deliver. The paper finds that, on average, Chartered Managers add £391,000 to their organisations, by improving operations, developing new products and services, and getting the best out of the teams they lead.
