Maureen Duffy came out in the early 1960s and worked with the Homosexual Law Reform Society to implement the recommendations of the Wolfenden Report (1957). In this clip, Maureen explains the ‘butch’ and ‘femme’ lesbian identities that manifested in London during the 1960s.

The clip is part of Authors’ Livesan ongoing project initiated in 2007 by National Life Stories.
