Description

Wilfred Owen’s poem ‘Miners’ was published by The Nation in its 26 January 1918 issue. It is one of just five poems printed in Owen’s lifetime. The politically left-leaning Nation was one of few periodicals willing to publish criticism of the First World War.

Owen was killed in action on 4 November 1918, a week before the armistice was signed between the Allies and Germany on 11 November.
