This Care Quality Commission (CQC) document contains update reports from eight partner organisations in the National Group on Controlled Drugs. This is a strategic group of regulators and key agencies that have areas of responsibility for controlled drugs within their remit. The group met quarterly during 2010, and in this document CQC publish reports of activity from some of the main partners, namely:
- Association of Chief Police Officers;
- Department of Health;
- NHS Counter Fraud and Security Management Service (now NHS Protect);
- General Pharmaceutical Council;
- Home Office Drugs Licensing and Compliance Unit;
- National Patient Safety Agency;
- National Treatment Agency for Substance Misuse (NTA); and
- National Prescribing Centre (NPC) Accountable Officers Support Programme.
