This report gives an overview of the findings of research, and makes recommendations, on what needs to be done differently to keep children and young people safe. It has been written primarily for those who design, run and work for children’s health services, but is also relevant to other sectors.

The findings will be relevant to senior managers in NHS England, the Department of Health, Department for Education and Ofsted, local authority chief executives, directors of children’s services and chairs of local safeguarding children boards (LSCB).

This report shares and celebrates examples of innovative and outstanding care, and is designed to help improve services across the health and social care sectors.
