This is the annual report of the Children and Young People’s Health Outcomes Forum, which reviews its progress on improving health outcomes for children and young people. It welcomes progress and challenges the health system and children’s sector on where further improvements are needed. They are grouped into 6 themes: ensuring useful engagement with children and young people so that their views are asked for, listened to and acted upon; ensuring that all people who work with children and young people are properly trained and have the right skills, attitudes and behaviour; ensuring that the incentives for developing children and young people’s services encourage prevention, early intervention, and safe and sustainable services; ensuring that the children and young people’s health outcomes are measured properly and that progress is reviewed; data sharing and integration; and ensuring that children and young people’s services are accountable at a national and local level.

It is supported by seven annexes: Annex 1: our ways of working and how we engage with others; Annex 2: Forum membership since February 2013; Annex 3: Pathway group membership; Annex 4: Meeting dates and agendas; Annex 5: Better health outcomes for children and young people: our pledge; Annex 6: Progress against recommendations made by the forum in their first report; and Annex 7: Progress against children and young people's health outcomes forum recommendations for the NHS outcomes framework and public health outcomes framework
