This submission highlights the links between women’s experiences of violence, sexual violence, domestic abuse and coercion, and their experience as offenders in the criminal justice system. It specifically explores the experience of the small minority of women who use violence in response to abuse by a primary aggressor. It also briefly considers the availability of robust, accredited perpetrator programmes for men in prison and in the community.
