This briefing concerns the proposed changes included in the Coalition government's public consultation, Employment-related settlement, Tier 5 and overseas domestic workers: a consultation. This consultation is considering more changes which would affect migrant workers in the UK - in particular the government is planning to restrict the possibility for most migrant workers from outside the EU to stay in the UK for longer than five years. It is also considering abolishing the overseas domestic worker visa, and restricting the rights of people coming here under Tier 5 of the Points Based System.
