Description

Sexism in the music industry was exposed in a number of features in Spare Rib. As demand for non-sexist music and bands grew during the 1970s and 80s, more all-women feminist bands emerged. Through its review pages and features, the magazine celebrated and documented the rise of the alternative music scene.
