This knowledge review examines social work teaching on human growth and development with regard to older people, looking particularly at what promotes or hinders successful learning outcomes. Teaching on human growth and development is a central requirement of qualifying social work education and the focus on older people is particularly relevant as policies and practice are improved in response to an ageing population.
