The Prison Reform Trust welcomes the publication of the Welsh Government Prosecution Code and the opportunity to contribute to this consultation.

They approve of the recognition of the ‘General Prosecution Principles’ that prosecutors should have due regard to the requirements of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Recommendations build upon the proposals set out in more detail in the attached discussion papers ‘Fair Cop’ and ‘Sentencing of Mothers’.
