This summary is based on research undertaken by Corven Consulting and Corven Networks to identify how to align structure with strategy and performance. The research is based on in-depth interviews, an online survey and an event with representatives of big business and government that had undergone a change in strategy within the last two years. Industries represented include: oil and gas, chemicals, utilities, transport, media and communications, and government.
The summary provides a definition of organisational design and a taste of the findings and recommendations as well as the Table of Contents of the full report, which is a priced publication available from Corven. Findings include that many large UK organisations do not update their structures or working practices following changes in their strategy, and that Continuous Improvement should be managed through means other than restructuring.
