Monk, teacher and bestselling author Gelong Thubten, meets the editor of The Idler Tom Hodgkinson in conversation.
Gelong Thubten is a Buddhist monk who teaches meditation and specialises in providing non-religious mindfulness workshops and training programmes for businesses and organisations. Thubten has been a monk since 1993 at Kagyu Samye Ling Tibetan Buddhist Monastery, has trained under some of the world's most accomplished teachers and spent over six years in intensive meditation retreats.

He was even the meditation consultant for the Marvel film Dr Strange. Thubten collaborated with Ruby Wax and Ash Ranpura on the book How To Be Human: the Manual and the live tour that has followed, and his own bestselling book, A Monk’s Guide to Happiness, was published in June 2019.
