Angela Hartnett is a leading figure in the UK’s food scene, not only for her Michelin-starred cooking at Murano but also as a campaigner, the star of several TV series, and as a cookbook author. Here she talks with Itamar Srulovich of Honey & Co about her career, the future for restaurants and about home cooking as she publishes her latest book, The Weekend Cook: Good Food for Real Life.
Online bookers may buy a copy of The Weekend Cook with your ticket at checkout for £29.50 (with UK postage) and watch the event for free. International postage will be higher. Books will be posted out within 7 days after the event. Please ensure your address is up to date on your British Library account.
Angela Hartnett OBE, is one of the UK’s most-loved chefs and restaurateurs, known for her sophisticated yet simple, Italian-inspired cooking. Born in Britain, her passion for good, honest food and the best ingredients was instilled in her by her Italian grandmother and mother. Working with Gordon Ramsay for many years, she launched Amaryllis in Scotland, Verre in Dubai and Menu and The Grill Room at the Connaught. In 2007 Angela was awarded an MBE for services to the hospitality industry, and the following year she opened her own restaurant, Murano, in Mayfair. In 2013 Angela launched the critically acclaimed Merchants Tavern in Shoreditch and Café Murano, a little sister to Murano. Angela is a regular on UK television, often appearing on Great British Menu, MasterChef and Saturday Kitchen, as well as being one of the judges for BBC’s Best Home Cook. The Weekend Cook: Good Food for Real Life (published May 2022) is her third book.
Itamar Srulovich is one half of the couple behind Honey & Co., a Middle Eastern restaurant in London which he runs with his wife, Sarit Packer.
