Join us for a monthly creative workshop inspired by the Library’s collection and designed for blind and partially sighted visitors.
Each month participants will have a chance to find out about items in our collection, from manuscripts and printed books to some of our unique sound recordings. In each session participants will hear audio description of the items and then get the chance to respond creatively using different art techniques. Exploring a range of tactile and 3D art making, participants will have the opportunity to try out a range of art materials. No experience needed.
The workshops will be led by artist Karly Allen and are suitable for visitors who are blind and partially-sighted. Workshops are free and refreshments are provided. Guide and assistance dogs are welcome.
The workshops take place between 11.00 and 13.00 on the following Wednesdays:
- 26 April 2023
- 24 May 2023
- 28 June 2023
- 26 July 2023
You are welcome to attend one or multiple workshops.
Please book by e-mailing outreach@bl.uk or by phoning +44 (0)20 7412 7122. If you require any other access support, please let us know when booking.
