A spotlight on Bengali culture with music, dance, talks, projections and more.

This event takes place in the British Library.

On the anniversary of the independence of Bangladesh we are hosting a unique event with activities and performances for all ages and communities. Presented as part of the Bloomsbury Festival, and taking place through the British Library’s outdoor and indoor spaces, entertainment includes Mela performers, high profile speakers, food, poetry, film and projections.

13.30 – 16.30 Talks and Screenings in the British Library Knowledge Centre

16.30 – 20.30 Music and dance in the Entrance Hall. Outdoor light projections on the Piazza.

More information about talks and screenings will be announced in September. Entry will be free but numbers are limited and strictly subject to capacity.

Presented by the Bloomsbury Festival and Camden Mela in partnership with the British Library and Kings Cross Brunswick Neighbourhood Association. This festival is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
