What made Beethoven the rock star of the 19th century? Bring your learners to discover Beethoven’s story inside our new exhibition, and learn about his transformation from musician to celebrated composer and star. In this visit learners will enjoy a facilitated tour of the gallery encountering Beethoven’s extraordinary handwritten manuscripts and letters on display. There will be an emphasis on Beethoven’s writing process and learners will make links between Beethoven’s 9th symphony and his earlier music. They will also explore Beethoven’s use of Schiller’s poem ‘Ode to Joy’ in the 9th symphony.
