Inspired by our exhibition, Alexander, join this two-day course at the Library for an introduction to the Greek language. We will explore the cultural context of Greek alongside practical language learning, and by the end of the weekend you will be translating Greek texts into English.
By exploring the Greek alphabet, the principles of sentence construction, alongside vocabulary, Greek grammar and syntax, you will develop an understanding of Greek that will also help your understanding of the English language. Through close reading, transliteration and translation, and group work, you will gain a foundational understanding of this ancient language.
This course will run across the following dates:
- Saturday 19 November 2022, 10.30 – 17.00
- Sunday 20 November 2022, 10.30 – 17.00
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your access requirements as soon as you have booked your ticket.
