An opportunity to see treasures from the collection close-up.
Normally open by appointment only, the Print Room is a specialist Reading Room for the Library’s Visual Art collections. To celebrate the Library’s 50th anniversary, this ‘behind-the-scenes’ session will offer an opportunity for visitors to see some of the Library’s most important artworks from Asia, as well as key works related to the history of photography in Britain since the 1840s onwards.
The session will be in the Print Room itself with original artworks on display accompanied by a talk by the Library’s Visual Art Curator on the history of the Visual Art collections.
Please note that coats and bags (including handbags) cannot be taken into the Print Room and must be placed in either the cloakroom or lockers on the Lower Ground Floor ahead of the tour start time.
Food, drink, pens and markers are not allowed in the Reading Rooms.
Places are limited to 12 people.
The visit will last for approximately 60 minutes. Please meet at the Information Desk.
Please arrive no later than 15 minutes before the start time of this event.
