Fred, Mog, Tom Kitten and The Cat in the Hat with Julia Eccleshare

Writer, broadcaster and children's literature expert Julia Eccleshare leads an informal, interactive evening of discussion about four famous cats in children's picture books: Fred, by Posy Simmonds, Mog by Judith Kerr, The Cat in the Hat by Dr Seuss and Tom Kitten by Beatrix Potter.

Julia Eccleshare is a writer, broadcaster and lecturer, and was the Guardian's children's books editor from 2000-2016, as well as working here at the British Library as Head of PLR Policy and Engagement.
In addition to numerous anthologies Julia’s books include A Guide to the Harry Potter Novels (Continuum, 2002), Beatrix Potter to Harry Potter: Portraits of Children's Writers (National Portrait Gallery, 2002) and 1001 Children’s Books to Read Before You Grow Up (Cassell, 2009). She is founder and chair of the judges of the Branford Boase first novel prize and of the Klaus Flugge Prize for a first picture book. She won the Eleanor Farjeon Award in 2000 in recognition of her outstanding contribution to children's books.
