Join us for a creative workshop in partnership with SiShu Chinese School.

Inspired by our Chinese and British exhibitionthese workshops will provide an introduction to Chinese poetry, calligraphy and brush paint.

Students will begin with a short guided tour of the exhibition to celebrate the history and impact of this vibrant community, and meet remarkable individuals from British Chinese communities across the UK.

Following the tour, students will take part in a workshop in our Learning Centre led by teaching staff from the SiShu Chinese School. They will have the opportunity to discover key figures such as poet Xu Zhimo and artist Chiang Yee. Students will learn some basic Chinese poetry; try out calligraphy using brush pens on rice paper; and be introduced to brush painting on paper fans. Students will be able to take away their pieces for a display back at school.
