You might be writing comedy sketches, sitcoms, humorous prose, articles, plays, even diaries.
Whichever kind of comedic writing you are engaged in, or want to get into, this course will inspire you with an exploration of two greats of 20th century comedic writing, who between them wrote TV shows, movies, novels, short stories, songs, diaries, articles and more – Michael Palin and P G Wodehouse.
Get close to their personal documents from the Library’s collection to go behind the playful and technical brilliance of Palin and Wodehouse. Then with comedy teacher, director and author Chris Head, analyse and discuss their work drawing out comedic writing techniques for you to explore in your own writing. You will use creative prompts to stimulate your own work, share your writing and receive helpful and inspiring feedback.
