Create a character illustration

Inspired by our exhibition, Paddington: The Story of a Bear, create your own animal illustration in this practical online session using collage and drawing.

Led by professional illustrator, Siôn Ap Tomos, be expertly guided through the process of developing a colourful and engaging animal face. This includes working from a photographic reference provided to understand the head shape and arrangement of an animal’s head. As you learn how to interpret this for a collage design, explore different techniques for depicting features, as well as tips on how to capture certain facial expressions.

You’ll be guided on how to organise and develop a collage design, giving you the chance to play with your design, allowing you to see what colour combinations, feature styles and details work best before committing to them with glue.

This course takes place on Zoom and we will email you a joining link the day before. There will be an opportunity to reflect on your experience with your fellow participants and share your responses with the tutor.

Live captions will be provided by Stagetext.
