Performance storytelling by Jan Blake and Ben Haggarty

The fairytale landscape is littered with little (and not-so-little) boys and girls who don't just get into trouble, but make trouble. Leading performance storytellers Ben Haggarty and Jan Blake hop-scotch through the rarer reaches of world folklore to celebrate the children, their deeds, their misdeeds...and their come-uppance.

Ages 14+

Ben Haggarty is a professional performance storyteller, who has performed his live events all over the world since 1981. He established Crick Crack Club in 1987, which has recreated storytelling as a contemporary performance art in the UK. He has worked with organisations such as the Barbican Centre and Southbank Centre, and his work has also featured on TV and radio.

Jan Blake is one of Europe’s leading story tellers and performers. Born in Manchester to Jamaican parents, she specialises in stories from Africa and the Caribbean. She has earned a reputation for dynamic and story telling that she has been sharing worldwide for 25 years.

The Crack Crack Club is the UK's premiere performance storytelling programmer and promoter, working with the finest performance storytellers, developing audiences, supporting artists and collaborating with venues across the UK and Europe.
