British Library Learning and the Eccles Centre for American Studies at the British Library are delighted to offer A-level politics teachers a unique opportunity to engage with two Former Members of Congress in this free online webinar.
This event will allow teachers to discuss key topics from the A-level Politics syllabus with a bi-partisan pairing of former Congresspeople who will bring their unique insights as political practitioners. Covering a range of topics from the curriculum, the event will include an opportunity to hear from a teacher who currently uses the first-person experience of Former Members of Congress in their classroom. There will also be time for attendees to ask questions of the Congresspeople, helping to illuminate key concepts from the syllabus, such as Congress, the Presidency, the Supreme Court, pressure groups, and elections, as well as providing detailed insights into current US politics, parties and political culture.
This CPD event is part of a week-long series of activities organised by the Eccles Centre which also includes two in-person schools conferences for students on Monday 15 and Tuesday 16 November. Find out more here.
The Congress to Campus UK programme brings former Members of the US Congress to the UK to talk with student and general audiences about contemporary US politics.
