A world premiere composition after Delia Derbyshire

Be transported to a rainforest, revisit musical treasures or experience rare recordings for the first time, all within our Entrance Hall. Guest selectors will open your ears and mind in these regular Friday evening sound experiences. No ticket required.

The original Radiophonic Workshop has given access to previously unheard original compositional ideas by the late Delia Derbyshire, a key figure in electronic sound. The result is the world premiere ‘fever dream’ of sonic futurism based around Delia’s astoundingly beautiful original works.

This free event in the British Library Entrance Hall is the third in a series of three presentations hosted by Martyn Ware – alongside Tales From the Bridge on 12 January and Liquid Histories on 19 January. Martyn is well known as a musician with pioneering UK electronic groups Human League, Heaven 17 and British Electric Foundation. He is the founder of Illustrious Co Ltd with Vince Clarke which exploits the creative and commercial possibilities of 3D sound technology in collaboration with artists, performers, museums and corporate clients.
