A guide to using British Library market research sources to find information on your business sector. And best practice for your field research.
This practical workshop will introduce you to the £50 million plus of market research databases the Business & IP Centre holds that will be relevant to you.
Every business needs to understand their target market. This includes knowing the size of the sector, current trends, innovations and who your competitors are. This workshop will take you through key information sources available for free in the Business & IP Centre. It will cover practical examples of finding relevant information from sources such as Mintel, IBIS World and Cobra. It will also cover essential field research to complement the published market research. Find out what your customers think about your particular brand and product or service. You will also look at how to engage with customers to find out what they really think, instead of the answers they think you want to hear.
The session will end with hands-on experience of searching the Business & IP Centre databases with help from the workshop presenter.
This workshop is ideally paired with What Next for my Business Idea (but should be attended afterwards).
Don’t forget we have over £5m worth of online market reports from top publishers Mintel, Frost & Sullivan, Euromonitor amongst others, company data for over 144 million UK and global companies, over 60 million patents and more. With a Reader Pass you can access all of these resources for free before or after your workshop (or in the break if you can’t keep away!) and get your business ahead of the competition.
