Beckett’s first play for radio kicks off our series of classic radio drama listenings

Set in rural Ireland or, perhaps, inside Maddy’s head as she makes her way slowly to the station to collect her blind husband.  Compulsory listening for anyone interested in radio drama and in radio’s ability to portray the inner world.

Produced by Donald McWhinnie and first broadcast on the BBC Third Programme, 13 January 1956.

Part of In the Dark at the British Library, a series of radio listening events exploring the theme of Inner Worlds… Inner Voices.
