The annual event for the literary translation community
International Translation Day is the annual event for the literary translation community. It is an opportunity for translators, students, publishers, booksellers, librarians, bloggers and reviewers to gather and network and debate significant issues and developments within the sector, discuss challenges and celebrate success. The vibrant day-long programme includes seminars on gender and sexuality in translation, translating human rights, new initiatives for and by literary translators, sessions focused on poetry and Arabic, and a mass translating for theatre workshop. Plus a detailed look at the changing demographics of the UK and how the make up of our cities have changed: what does this tell us about who translators are and where might we find them?
