Part of the Chortle Comedy Book Festival
Jenny Eclair was the first woman to win the Perrier Award in 1995 and admits she 'hasn’t stopped banging on about it ever since'. She still gigs regularly, and co-wrote and starred in the Grumpy Old Women stage tours.
She has co-written a number of plays and non-fiction books as well as the novels Camberwell Beauty, Having a Lovely Time, Life, Death & Vanilla Slices and Moving, which was a Sunday Times bestselling Richard and Judy pick. Her latest novel, Inheritance, is a poignant and compelling tale of family secrets, set in a Cornish mansion that witnessed a tragedy, whose consequences are still rippling down through the generations.
Next September, her new non-fiction book Older and Wider: Menopausal Musings From The Midlife, inspired by her podcast of the same name, will be released by Quercus.
Join Jenny as she discusses her career, and her transition from comedian to acclaimed writer of atmospheric, page-turning fiction – and the fact that she is desperate to write a new stand up show!
