The curtain raiser for JLF at the British Library features one of our finest contemporary novelists Monica Ali in conversation with Jaishree Misra.
Monica Ali's debut novel, Brick Lane, quickly became an international phenomenon. Love Marriage, the fascinating story of two very different families thrown together by a whirlwind engagement, is her first new book in a decade. An enthralling social comedy, it underscores the worlds of love and marriage, the strains and stories that emerge at the curious intersection of both. In this conversation, Ali reveals the truth of ‘who we are and how we love in today’s Britain’.
Prior to their conversation, the 2022 London edition of the Jaipur Literature Festival will be launched by its Artistic Directors William Dalrymple and Namita Gokhale.
Please note, this session is not included in JLF Weekend or Day Passes and should be booked separately. Gurinder Chadha is no longer taking part in this event due to unforeseen circumstances.
If you’re attending in person, please arrive no later than 15 minutes before the start time of this event. We are committed to the safety of our event bookers. Find out how we are welcoming you to the Library safely.
