Explore the value of reading analytically

When we read a work of fiction, we inevitably view the action through the author’s chosen point of view. For writers, control of the narrative viewpoint is crucial, while readers will benefit from an understanding of the way perspective affects our perception of characters and events. This online course explores the value of reading fiction analytically – but without the jargon – both for those who wish to read well to write well and for those who are simply interested in approaching literary texts more thoughtfully.

This course takes place on Zoom, and we will email you a joining link the day before.

There will be an opportunity to ask the tutors Sarah Burton and Jem Poster questions during a Q&A.
