Draw the human body, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci
Our exhibition Leonardo da Vinci: A Mind in Motion offers the perfect opportunity to practise life drawing, inspired by Leonardo’s lifelong engagement with the human body. Leonardo used drawing as a tool for investigation and enquiry, and, in this spirit, spend the day working with a life model and experimenting with different materials and approaches.
Taking the exhibition’s theme of movement as our focus, draw from poses that reflect Leonardo’s fascination for implied motion, flow and torsion, as well as responding to subtle shifts of emotion as expressed through the body.
The aim of the day is to bring Leonardo’s sense of curiosity and enjoyment to the traditional practice of the life drawing studio.
