Nature at Night is part of Leeds’s annual free multi-arts and light festival, Light Night Leeds. See our nocturnal display of lanterns with accompanying soundscape for two nights on 14 and 15 October.

Light Night invites people to see the city of Leeds in a new light. For over 17 years some of Leeds’s most recognisable spaces have been transformed by spectacular artworks and captivating performances by local, national and international artists.

We’re back this year with a new display, including two new lanterns inspired by our collection – and the traditional symbol of Leeds. See what you find in the glowing display of elusive night-time creatures, designed and created by The Lantern Company. Listen out for a sounds from our Environment and Nature archive, woven into a soundscape by composer Roma Yagnik.
